Ventilation

Thanks to its special opening system and functional design, ALI DARIA ADR offers many advantages compared to traditional systems, those with side or “extended” opening (shed skylights).
The vertical lifting of the cover, by freeing the hole on all four sides, ensures a larger ventilation surface area and better wind resistance.

The side extensions from the base hole allow opening of the aerator even during rain. The solid structure made of profiles in steel and aluminium, conceived and designed by Basso, guarantees the maximum robustness.

Testing

The collaboration between Basso – Luce e Aria with ENGINSOFT on the study of heat dissipation in buildings has led to a thermo fluid dynamic study based on the finite volume method.

Simulations on an industrial building under equal conditions and aperture areas have shown:
VENTILATION EFFICIENCY
With the ALI DARIA ADR system, ventilation of the environment is 75% higher than with a traditional system (e.g. with side opening).

THERMAL DISSIPATION EFFICIENCY
With the ALI DARIA ADR system, the decrease in internal temperature of the environment is 10-15% better than with a traditional system (e.g. with side opening).

Technical specifications

Years of experience in the sector have made possible the creation of a simple, robust and reliable structure. The opening system requires no maintenance thanks to the sliding system with teflon runners which ensure long life. A gear motor acts on a transmission shaft (in drawn steel) with gear on a rack (width 40mm and M4), which allows the cover to be lifted up to 68cm (data variable on request).
The entire system is supported by a 2-3mm thick steel structure.

The Ali Daria ADR skylight is composed of three main elements: the cover, made in alveolar or solid polycarbonate sheets, the openable frame with vertical opening and the base in pressed sheet metal.

Covering materials

The Basso system of sheet pairing gives the cover excellent durability and resistance over time and excellent thermal insulation

The system consists of an upper sheet in solid polycarbonate (SHOCK-PROOF PC 2mm) and an upper sheet in alveolar polycarbonate (PCA 8/10/16mm).

SHEET CONTAINMENT PLATFORM
Made to our design in natural aluminium alloy 6060, it provides lateral support to the cold-drawn covering sheets.

ALUMINIUM RIBS
The sheets on the expansion are joined together by means of two calendered load-bearing structural profiles in extruded natural aluminium (lower and upper ribs), placed at modular centre-to-centre distance.

The structural profile is designed to allow expansion of the covering sheets and to accommodate any infiltration of rainwater by discharging it outside. The ribs are fixed to the platform using only the screws fixed at its ends, allowing uniform tension over the entire radius of curvature. This allows to simplify installation and avoid water infiltration points. The radius of curavture is determined by the type and thickness of the covering material.

The ALI DARIA ADR system offers a modular logic in adapting to the required dimensions. The mechanical components can be arranged by our designers to cover small and large holes.

Skylight

On request, to meet high thermal performance requirements, ALI DARIA ADR can be equipped with a skylight in alveolar polycarbonate PCA in opal or transparent colour, which contains and reduces the passage of heat, improving the thermal transmission of the skylight.

THERMAL TRANSMITTANCE
Thermal transmittance is the transmission of heat that occurs through a body when it is subject to a difference in temperature, therefore representing the thermal flow per surface area unit that passes through a technical element (skylight) which separates two environments where air temperature has a unit difference.
According to (Italian) Legislative Decree 311/06 and (Italian) Presidential Decree 59/09, Italy has been divided into 6 climate areas subject to different thermal transmission values, to reach greater energy efficiency.

Bases

SHEET METAL BASES

The base is made from pressed sheet metal (galvanised – prepainted – stainless steel – printed RAL on request with a standard thickness of 12/10mm).
Its height can be customised according to the needs of the site and the lower lip support is made according to the type of covering to be adapted to. The base can be supplied as a single wall or insulated with a self-extinguishing polystyrene panel with a thickness of 4cm adapted to be sheathed, by the customer, or coupled to an external galvanised sheet of a thickness of 8/10mm to be connected to the covering. The thickness and type of insulation are also customisable aspects.

Nets

FALL PROTECTION NET

The electrowelded fall protection net can be installed above or below
the base and comes with triple selvedge at the ends with horizontal and vertical wires, both linear, made from galvanised steel with a diameter of 2.0mm and 100x50mm mesh.
This net is drop test certified (drop weight 50kg, drop height 1,200mm).

ANTI-INTRUSION NET ACCORDING TO ANIA REGULATIONS

The electrowelded galvanised anti-intrusion net can be installed above or below the base and can be produced with round bar, 15mm in diameter and 180x500mm mesh.

MOSQUITO NET

The mosquito net is made from fibreglass and has a perimeter frame for proper installation.

ANTI-BIRD NET

The anti-bird net is made with 2mm diameter thread, galvanised and coated in green PVC, with 10x10mm mesh. It can be installed above or below the base to prevent the intrusion of birds.
